SMS Consent & Opt-Out

1. Who sends these messages

SMS messages are sent by AliceHQ.AI Limited (NZBN: 94-29053397188), a New Zealand company. Messages are sent from our short code (see below) to mobile numbers you provide when signing up for an AliceHQ audit or service.

2. What you consent to

When you submit your phone number on an AliceHQ audit sign-up form, you consent to receiving SMS messages from AliceHQ including:

  • Setup messages — your call forwarding code and setup instructions
  • Operational alerts — notifications when Alice handles a call on your behalf
  • Weekly audit reports — a summary of calls handled and estimated missed revenue
  • Upgrade and service messages — information about your subscription and options

You will not receive unsolicited promotional messages. Message frequency varies based on call volume during your audit period. Standard NZ carrier rates apply.

3. How to opt out

You can opt out of SMS messages from AliceHQ at any time using any of the following methods:

  • Reply STOP to any AliceHQ SMS message. Your number will be removed from our messaging list within 24 hours.
  • Email privacy@alicehq.ai with the subject “SMS Opt-Out” and the mobile number you want removed.
  • Remove call forwarding — dial ##61# on your phone to stop forwarding calls to Alice. This also ends your audit.

4. Call recording disclosure

When Alice answers a forwarded call on your behalf, the caller is informed at the start of the call that:

  • They are speaking with an AI-powered receptionist, not a human
  • The call is being recorded and transcribed
  • The transcript will be available to the business owner (you)

This disclosure is mandatory for compliance with the NZ Privacy Act 2020 and is built into every Alice interaction. It cannot be disabled during the audit period.

Call recordings are subject to our Privacy Policy, including our data retention, access, and security obligations.

5. NZ regulatory compliance

AliceHQ's SMS messaging practices comply with:

  • NZ Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (UEM Act) — all messages are sent with the recipient's prior consent, identify the sender, and include a functional opt-out mechanism.
  • NZ Privacy Act 2020 — personal information (mobile numbers, call transcripts) is collected only for the purpose stated at collection and handled in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles.
